Why generic wattage charts can mislead

A wattage-only chart can hide important differences in alloy, joint design, wire use, focus, travel speed and what the manufacturer means by “maximum.” We therefore do not normalize every machine into a single universal promise.

Is a 1500W laser welder always good for the same thickness?

No. Published thickness varies by manufacturer, material, configuration and test assumptions.

Is maximum thickness the same as ideal production thickness?

No. A published maximum is not necessarily the best continuous-production operating point. Ask the manufacturer to validate your exact joint and throughput requirement.
